So I took the opportunity to take a drive. Topped off the tank, put my favorite Zeppelin album on repeat and proceeded to get lost.
On my drive I found some of the best, most exciting roads I’ve ever driven. White knuckle driving yet never going above third gear or exceeding 35 mph. Back roads are the greatest.
I drove for over two and a half hours wandering aimlessly through the middle of nowhere, Missouri. My car isn’t fast, it isn’t great looking, it isn’t what people would consider a “cool car,” but I love it.
Take it easy and enjoy your weekend, Oppo.
I feel refreshed. Haven’t felt this great in a while.

Proof you don’t need a super-fast sport car to have fun. If you’re an enthusiast you can enjoy a good drive in pretty much any car, as long as it’s special to you for whatever reason. That’s what makes cars awesome :)

Yep yep! I’ve got a 5 speed. When looking for an OB three years ago, I refused to buy one with an auto. It had to be stick. Took me three months to find it haha

Haha I thought the fonts were the same for every state!

I think we got the last year of the manual, a 2013. It is a pretty good gear box, way better than those in the older legacy’s or foresters. That 6th gear is very long for 175 hp. I still try to drive it like a sports car.

Maybe you should get your happy ass to KC and I'll show you some roads soon

When my OB finally dies, many many years from now, I hope to find a 2012 or 13 with a stick. It’s gonna be damn near impossible but the stick makes such a big difference in these cars.
Do you have a pic of your car? I’d love to see it!

Haha I’m hoping to get to KC actually around mid November to see my cousin and her twin girls. If I can break away from the family I’ll give you a call!

This is the only one I could find on this computer. These cars are so common here I don’t even think it’s special anymore.

Using the Outback how God intended. I applaud you, sir.

There are some good roads up here north of 70 between 61&79. I had to detour this year because of the flood, followed the google maps for the detour, when one option was a zig zag I followed that, in a 16’ box truck. The car in front of me from out of state, girl stuck her head out the back window at a stop sign and threw up.
I loled, remembering the couple times I got car sick as a kid.

Just talked to my mom and sister. We’re planning KC the first or second week of November.
I’ll do my best to break away and hang with you but I can’t make any promises. Where are you in KC now? MO or KS side?
I’d text you, but my phone won’t send/receive texts for some reason!
